Indu Antony is a Bangalore-based visual and performance artist, and photographer. Born 1982 and raised in a conventional Indian family from Kerala, she overcame social obligations to pursue her art.
Born in Chanteloup- en Brie in France (1908) Henri Cartier- Bresson was fascinated with painting and Surrealism. HCB studied art, literature, and English at the University of Cambridge (1928/9) where he became bilingual.
Gauri Gill (1970– ) is an Indian photographer based in New Delhi. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at the Delhi College of Art (Applied Art 1992) before undertaking a second Bachelor of Fine Art (Photography) at Parsons School of Design in New York City in 1994 and a Master of Fine Art (Art) at Stanford University in California in 2002.
Pushpamala N (1956– ) is a multidisciplinary Indian artist based in Bangalore. She completed a Bachelor of Arts (Economics, English and Psychology) at Bangalore University in 1977 before going on to complete a Bachelor of Arts (Sculpture) at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 1982.
Annu Palakunnathu MATTHEW
Annu Palakunnathu Matthew (1964– ) was born in England, raised in India, and is now based in the United States of America. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Madras in 1986 before completing a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Delaware in 1997.
Suresh Punjabi (1957– ) was born in Indore, India. He had his first portrait taken at age 11 and was transfixed by both the process and its result. Punjabi had informal photography lessons and bought his first professional camera at age 14. As a teenager he travelled across Indore and other parts of Madhya Pradesh to take images and learn the trade.
